Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Programme at Beijing Normal University – Hong Kong Baptist University United International College is committed to provide students with an education that prepares them for AI-related careers in various industries. It will offer a broad training in core computer and intelligence technology and provide students with a good foundation for career development.

The Artificial Intelligence Programme from Beijing Normal University – Hong Kong Baptist University United International College also aims at offering opportunities to students who wish to pursue a postgraduate education or to develop their technology skills in AI in the modern industrial context.

In order to emphasize the various domains of AI technology, two concentrations of AI technologies and their applications will be provided for students to choose from.

The two concentrations are AI in Business and Finance Concentration, AI in Multimedia Concentration.

For many years, financial technology has been one of the most exciting topics in academia and finance.

This is so not only because the subject is extremely important in terms of financial and commercial value, but also because of its highly unpredictable nature, it poses a real challenge to researchers all over the world.

With this concentration, students will learn how to apply various AI technologies (such as machine learning, data mining, deep network, financial technology and Quantum Finance technology) related to smart finance learned in the programme to AI-based finance Engineering issues, such as data mining. Financial market, financial pattern recognition, quantum financial forecasting and multi-agent based trading system. AI in Multimedia Concentration covers artificial intelligence courses on solving multimedia problems, such as speech, image recognition, and multimedia mining.

AI in Multimedia is an interdisciplinary concentration that teaches students to make computers to understand images, graphs, charts, and videos, and to read complex documents.

Other tasks include augmented reality to guide field technicians when operations are complex; helping computers speak and dialogue with emotions and expressions; and enriching videos with metadata. The courses include Speech Processing and Recognition, Digital Image Processing, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Multimedia Mining and Analytics, Design and Implementation of Intelligent Vision System, etc.

UIC is located in Zhuhai, China, a beautiful and costal city, Zhuhai is one of China's Special Economic Zones. Zhuhai is very close to Macao, Hong Kong and some of the big cities of Guangdong province.

1.Recruitment Requirements:

UIC welcomes international students from all over the world. The home countries should have diplomatic relationship with China.

UIC recruits international students who are foreign passport holders and above 18 years old.

As X1 study visa opening for application, for 2023 UIC recruits on site students who can secure their visa and enter into China. We may accept late arrival students, but generally speaking, UIC accepts the students can study on site.

2.Admission format:

UIC is adopting rolling admission, first come first serve

UIC will give international students feedback within two weeks if an interview is needed.

3.Scholarships:

UIC offers limited full entrance (100,000 RMB), 30% entrance scholarship (30,000 RMB) and government scholarships (10,000 RMB) for 2023 intake. Scholarship distribution is also first come, first serve. For academic performance, full entrance scholarship holders need to be A or A+ students, 30% entrance scholarship holders need to be B or B above students. The college will have the final decision for distribution.
